The Golden Star has a perfect mixture of traditional features and a bright outlook on life.
Being regulars at the Golden Star as this is our local pub gave us an advantage when speaking to landlady Lil. Lil has been in charge of the Golden Star for nearly 16 years and felt that it was time for a change to the brand and the website. So after speaking to Lil during one of our local networking meetings for the Norwich Kitty where the Golden Star is a regular venue, we discussed what visualise can do for the Star.
The brief from Lil was that she wanted to take advantage of the local building work that is happening in the area, such as new hotels, student accommodation and the Norwich City Arts College which is just opposite to open up the awareness of the pub.
With the Premier Inn just yards away, many passers by were not aware of what the Golden Star can offer as a warm and friendly atmosphere with a great menu of food. So, we created a more modern but not OTT brand that would appeal to the Colegate crowd. From the brand we design the business cards and from that we started work on designing and developing the new website.
The original website was very dated and also non responsive which immediately put the pub at a disadvantage with both SEO and ease of viewing. All our designs are fully responsive and so we designed the site to be more modern, proactive and easier to use and update.
We have now made the menus visible on the website for viewers to see and also replicated the blackboard that is in the pub above the fireplace with the fairy lights around it. The events page is also more easier to update and there is a newsletter signup for viewers to be able to be kept up to date via email. On the menus page we also included a booking form, aimed more at the Sunday Lunch which often sells out so that customers can avoid disappointment.
We’ve enjoyed working on this project and we are looking forward to continually working with Lil as we crack on with follow up advertising. We are sure that the pub is going to be difficult to get through the door soon, so don’t hang about, pop on down to the Golden Star.
