We were put onto Nick Wells of In Demand Toys through our client Mark from NOR-CON. We met Nick for a meeting at his shop and he went through with us his original website where he sells his collectible action figure toys. The main problem he had was that he was using Big Commerce which he had built himself and that it was restricting his expanding business due to lack of functionality. The other big issue was that the monthly invoice from the provider was skyrocketing. So we created a proposal to fully rebuild the website, with a new image, significantly increased functionality, and a new logo. The most important factor was no more HUGE payments each month to Big Commerce!

We first created a brand new logo for In Demand Toys which incorporates the brand colours and also highlights what the In Demand Toys business is all about. We created a static logo design for the business to be used on flyers and marketing material as well as creating an animated logo to bring the new website to life.

While the design and development was being done for the new website we also created a new flyer for In Demand Toys for them to then hand out at the many comic con’s and trade shows around the country.

With the bespoke designed framework in place for the new website, the massive job of the custom development then began. Nick was very specific about what he wanted the site to do, which was a great help to us moving forward. We dealt with every wishlist item and problem that Nick could throw at us and produced a much more fluent website, with increased functionality that allows for customers to pre-order products, collect ID points and have a much better impression of the product that they are looking to buy.

With every issue and wishlist solved, we then put the website live on an alternative URL that Nick had so that the existing site could stay live while we put the final bits of functionality into place. First, we had to integrate Linnworks into the new system so that In Demand Toys could manage stock, order levels, and keep customers informed with specific emails relating to their order. With the Linnworks integrated we then had to import the existing database of customer orders from the existing site to the new website. With this done we then switched the DNS of the domain to the new domain which we are hosting on our own dedicated servers. Project complete.

This project for the Visualise Creative team has probably been the biggest undertaking that we have done to date, but we got there and we are so pleased with the result. As is Nick, the client. To say he was somewhat nervous throughout the project is an understatement as we had to meet specific needs. But, we got there. phew!
