Gringos Tequila Bar – Great Music, Great Drinks, Great People.
visualise have known Andrew & Ellie Skalli, the owners at Gringos Tequila Bar on the Prince of Wales Road in Norwich, for several years. We first met at our local networking group ‘The Norwich Kitty Networking Group‘ several years ago and spoke about creating a website for the Tequila Bar, however at that point we lost out to another web design company. A year and a half later Andrew & Ellie contacted us once again to come in for a chat, they showed us the website that they had had built and weren’t happy with and had decided to cut their losses and asked if we could help. Of course we could.
After a year and a half Gringos Tequila Bar also wanted to bring into the business a new venture called ‘Gringos Events‘, so we came up with the design of an initial landing page that would then allow the visitor access to both the Gringos Tequila Bar and the Gringos Events. The original design they had had done was an attempt to get the swing doors, which are a prominent feature within the Tequila Bar, swinging, however the effect just wasn’t cutting it and together with the site built to be non-responsive we then set about the task of creating the swing doors properly. After photographing the actual doors and developing code so that they swung open properly when clicked we also incorporated quirky posters to pull the viewer in. Along with the swing doors being a feature, the brief was to create a design that was unique to the bar and projected them as a fun themed bar for party packages and live events. We created a footer that has tumbleweed blowing along to relfect the Mexican theme.
After we had nailed the landing page we set about creating the Tequila Bar website. The design needed to be something special and create the wow factor which also had change of themes for specific pages. The events page of the site is made to look like a live music venue focusing on the ‘alternative’ scene. We expanded the part packages functionality and particularly the stag & hen packages. Within the stag package you will find a really funky feature where bugs and spiders crawl all over the screen, the Guitar Hero package is focused around the game and has Slash swinging his guitar in the header. The hen party package we changed all the pages to have unique themes, with the ‘day of the dead’ theme being modelled around the Mexican skulls and the lady in the header tipping her hat.
After we finished working on the Gringos Tequila Bar site we focused on the Gringos Events site which was a lot easier to design and develop after the Tequila site! The Gringos Events site focuses on the new business venture which starts in January 2017 and sees Gringos taking their Mexican flavour to both corporate and private events. Gringo’s Nacho Factory, Gringo’s Cheeky Churros and Gringo’s Mini Bar are the main pages of the site, giving the viewer the opportunity to see the menus and submit and enquiry for booking the them to attend an event.
This project has been a great and rewarding experience for us at visualise and to say we are proud of the finished product is an understatement. We just hope everyone sees it and appreciates the work that went into it.
